Epidural fail

Any mums on here have the epidural and it didn't work? E.g only numbed half of your body- were the contractions still as bad as not having it?

Did it not work at all?-what was the plan after this, where you still experiencing no pain releif and still stuck to a bed without movement?

I guess my over all question is is it possible to have the epidural and it not work at all and give you NO Form of releif what's so ever? If if it does indeed fail will they keep trying until it works?

I don't want to have it, it not work and still be stuck in bed unable to move in so much pain.
