Is it time for me to switch birth control?

So random question but I am considering changing my birth control and I thought I would ask for opinions before I bring it up to my gyno at my annual.
I've been on tri-sprintec oral birth control for about 8 years now; I'm 22 and have never been pregnant and take the pill regularly. I get regular, nice and light periods.
But for the past few months, my birth control has made me nauseous the week before my period (almost how I would imagine morning sickness is, it's so random). It also recently causes me to spot SO randomly. It's not much, just a little bit of blood and light brown (seriously it's barely any and I only notice when I wipe).
I am not pregnant, nor could I be, but I just wasn't sure why after 8 years it's causing me mild issues? I'm not sure if it's a fluke or if it's time for me to switch pills.
