What do you think about a good friend moving in with a married couple to benefit themselves and the couple financially?

My best friend at work, which is basically all my life is (I'm an RN) pays a ridiculous amount of money for her lease, and when it is up, she has tossed around the idea of renting our extra bedroom for half the price. My husband and I have weighed the pros and cons, and can't decide if it is worth it or not. Any advice on how we should go about it if we do decide to move forward?

Honestly, I wouldnt do it. No amount of money is worth the privacy and intimacy you and your husband have, but thats just me. You do you!

I would go insane, so I would have a hard NO on this one. I wouldn't live and work with someone no matter how close we are, I also don't need other people in my relationship.

I mean..... that basically sounds like what children do 😂 only they don't often benefit the couple financially. So if it's even better for both invoked than having kids, and it's okay to do that, then why on earth would this not be okay?

I moved in with my best friend and her fiancé. We're no longer friends. It's really hard living with a couple, especially if they don't have a great relationship. Although she was my best friend, her fiancé wasn't and he kind of ruined everything for us by locking me out of the house one night.

It might work if you all remain very considerate and try to keep in mind that it's her place too. Just because you lived there first doesn't make it more your place to make major decisions.

And don't bring her in to any of your relationship issues. If you argue with your SO, just keep her out of it.

DONT DO IT! My husband and I have had 3 roommates to cut the cost of our home down. They all worked together and it went well for a few months. We just finally had the last guy move out and into his own place. While it didn't end on bad terms, it put a huge strain on our relationship. He would come home and not be able to settle down and relax due to his friend or friends always being there. Our marriage felt confined to the bedroom because we no longer felt comfortable even cuddling up on the couch because of our roommates.

A home is meant for one family. Usually having live ins do not work and ruin relationships.

I live w my mother in law. It's not the same I know but I've never had any problems. I say go for it
