My 6 month old got his first tooth at 4 months old. Our pediatrician said to take him to the dentist 6 months after his first tooth comes in. So I found a pediatric dentist & called to make an appointment for 10 months old. When I explained to them why I was waiting until 10 months they insisted that they need to see him right away & said they see babies, regardless of age, as soon as the first tooth comes in! I'm taking him in because I feel like the dentist knows teeth better than our prediatrician but it just seems crazy to have a 6 month old at the dentist. 10 months even seemed early to me. I've asked around & no other moms seem to have started this early! When was your lo's first dentist appointment? And what exactly happens at the first one when they're this young?
