To young to sleep train??

Question

Little one is 5.5months and I'm really ready to sleep train! He is ebf and does solids twice a day. It's so hard to get him to go down and stay down for any length of time. Once he is down it's for maybe a 2-3hr stretch. 
Is it to young to effectively sleep train?

Not too young. I started at 1 mo.. Its creating a predictable routine and having them fall asleep on own/not in your arms.... My opinion personally.

We started at 4 months using the no cry sleep solution book.

Not too young at all. Our pediatrician suggested it at 3 months. We didn't have the heart to do it till 4.5 months. If your baby is EBF, do a dream feed, it goes a long way. My 6 month old is still sometimes waking up hungry in the middle of the night. I feed him solids with milk before bed to keep him full longer.

My son and daughter started sleeping through the night at 3 months and were only getting breastmilk.

Not to young at all. My daughter is 5.l months old. I feed her baby food from 7-730, give her a bath from 730-745, nurse her and put her down at 8.  Having a bedtime routine has really helped her go to bed at the same tome each night. Sometimes she will sleep a whole 12 hours, other times she wont. When she wakes up, some tomes i feed her, other times we try to comfort her to sleep without milk. But we always wait and see if she will soothe herself back to sleep first.

I don't think so! I accidently sleep trained my 5 1/2 month old in his little swing. He refused to nap some days so I would put him in his swing with white noise and turn down the lights ( I made sure he wasn't hungry) he would cry at first for a few minutes then crash out. Now once I put him
In there and turn down the lights and walk out he just gets comfy and goes to sleep. No more crying at all! And he's able to nap almost 2 hours straight. As far as night sleeping that isn't the case.. we dont want him in that all night because it's bad for his growing body (unless he wakes up and won't go back to bed) and plus I hate sleeping on the couch and id have to do that if he slept in his swing. He's hated his crib since day one and will crawl to the corners and bang his head on it. He wakes up every two hours! I think I'm gonna sleep train him in the crib too
