Should I be feeling this way?

Today I called off from work.  I haven't called off my entire pregnancy but today I am so exhausted.  I couldn't sleep last night I'm having a mixture of braxton hicks and gas pains I think. I'm just purely exhausted.  Now I'm laying here feeling horrible for calling off when I should be resting! Ugh. Should I feel bad? I'm 33 weeks and 2 days pregnant.

I checked yes for those things being normal. But no you should not feel bad. This is my third pregnancy (30 weeks) and difficulty sleeping, Braxton hicks, gas and exhaustion can all be normal!!!! I'm with everyone here tho advises to take care of yourself tho! Quality vitamins, healthy round diet with plenty of protein, iron (I prefer liquid chlorophyll), be sure to be having plenty of water and herbal tea (if you haven't yet, Google which teas are good for pregnancy and which you need to avoid), and I also like to make my own juices - less sugar that way. Be religious about adequate sleep! Our bodies is practically running a daily marathon during pregnancy. With the BH's -rest and drink water! Bananas and a quality Magnesium like mag L-throenate can help to ease and supply your muscles. Minimize dehydrating and processed foods. Maybe grab a few extra pillows to sleep with (I sleep with 5) and keep the air cool at night. I hope this helps!

Luckily I haven't had to miss work for my pregnancy yet (other than appointments), but I won't feel bad if I do towards the end. Every other pregnant woman I know has taken advantage and called in for every little thing, so once or twice during pregnancy doesn't seem like it should be a big deal.

No you shouldn't. I know how you feel when you do something for yourself and then feel bad. Take care of yourself and the baby.

Thank you everyone for giving me some reassurance! Being able to nap and just take a chill pill today really helped.  But of course here I am at midnight and can't sleep.   Insomnia is definitely happening more often now. Uuugh

Don't feel bad girl. Especially if your 33 weeks and have never called in while pregnant. That's pretty awesome! Don't over work yourself everyone needs a day off now and then to re collect.

I feel like shit every time I call in and I never really did before my pregnancy. I've called in a couple times and I'm 30 weeks. Sometimes you need a break. Give yourself one.

You should never feel guilty for calling in sick when you truly are. You and your baby getting proper rest is most important right now!
