someone please explain to me

I got my bfp Friday, making me 6 days late.. I tested after two days being late and it was negative.. I'm just confused why it took so long if it implanted on the 5th of May.. according to lmp.. or I guess it could've happened later? This stuff confuses me I try not to read too much into it but it's hard! I know it says it doubles every 2-3 days that's why it sounds off to me but I know it has to be right because we only had sex when the app said I was fertile and ovulating which was the 24th of April through the 30th and we had sex all six days so it obviously worked
