hcg level 9?

I went to the er today and they said my hcg is 9 so I'm not pregnant? Wouldn't it be zero if I wasn't pregnant? I'm thinking I had a chemical pregnancy because I had positive tests all week then started spotting today and they did a ultrasound and said it's ethier to early to tell or I had a miscarriage. But again my question is if my hcg is 9 doesn't that mean i am pregnant are I was pregnant?

Depends on the reference range they are using. Some say anything below 25 is negative. Some say anything above 5 is positive. My guess would be a miscarriage bc hpt don't pick up hcg that low.

Chemical. Had the same thing happened. I watched the lines on the tests get lighter, then started bleeding. I'm sorry.

Sounds like a chemical pregnancy. If you had positive all week I would think your numbers should be higher than a 9. Are you still testing positive?

Anything over 5 is pregnant. They will need to redo your blood work in 48-72 hours to see if it doubles and continues to double. You won't see much on an ultrasound until your levels are in the thousands :) good luck and don't lose faith!

I'm guessing miscarriage. If you've gotten faint positives, your hcg was higher than that. Anything 5 and below is negative.
