Am I a bad mother????

Question

Am I a bad mother for having our toddler and our newborn sleeping in the same room as me and my husband? We only have a one bedroom apartment. All of my friends make me feel bad for all 4 of us sharing one bedroom. They are always saying how we need a bigger place. What do you guys think?

No it doesn't make you a bad mom at all. Outside of the US it's actually very common for people to cosleep with young children. Obviously when they get older you'll want to get a bigger place. But I see nothing wrong with sharing a bedroom with your toddler and newborn. I know a few people who co sleep with multiple children.

My hubby and I co-sleep with our 2 year old. He has a room, but refuses to sleep in it!  A good mom is the one who ensures  their child gets enough sleep. Who cares who else is in the room ALSO getting their  quality  sleep. You sound like just  the right kind of momma!

Depending on the ages you can actually be reported for not having enough rooms for your children. I don't think it makes you a bad parent if you share a room though.

I wouldn't want to do it. I have a 3 bedroom house and feel like we have outgrown it.
Kids need their own space as they get older. They will need their privacy.

I room share with my 21mth old and 8mth old. They have their own beds. I have 3 bedrooms. My son has one then me and the girls share one and I have a spare bed in the other. Once my 8mth old is sleeping through the night I'll put the girls in their own room. I don't know what the laws are where you live, but here in Michigan it's 2 people per bed room, but someone would have to call CPS and complain in order for that to be enforced.
