If it's a name he likes, it shouldn't matter to him that there's an alternate nerdy, fun little meaning for you that literally nobody else, including the kid, even needs to know is there. If he would veto a name you both love just because of that, then he is a petty person and you have a much bigger problem.

We are having a girl and her name is Adeline and will go by Addie, and in the second season of greys Addison Shepard was often called Addie. 😂 she wouldn't have been my first choice for reference, but I still got my little nod to my favorite show for the last decade plus
