Low amniotic fluid?

Question

How would you know if you have low amniotic fluid? I'm 25 weeks and had my last ultrasound at 19 weeks, without another one scheduled. I've had a lot of what I think is discharge, but it could be fluid and I would never know. I had my midwife appointment yesterday and had my first fundal measurement (measured at 24) and she didn't seem concerned. How would you even know?
I'm only a bit paranoid because our family (cousin) just experienced a still birth and it has us all a little shaken. I'm worried that we wouldn't know until it is too late since there are no ultrasounds to peek in.

They would have told you at 19 weeks if you had low fluid. Discharge is totally normal during pregnancy. You're fine, baby is fine. If you're really worried schedule another ultrasound, the worst they can say is no.

I have low amniotic fluid. It was found at my 20 week scan. I'm not leaking or anything. My baby is doing great developmentally and they are just having me come in ever two weeks for ultrasounds. My doctor told me to just take it easy and rest as much as possible. His goal is to get me to 34 weeks. I've been drinking a lot of juices and water to keep up my fluid intake. My doctor does not seem too concerned at this point. I have another ultrasound this Thursday to check my levels. At my 20 week appointment they were at a 7.1 and my 22 week appointment it was a 7.0. 
If I were leaking, there would be no fluid left.  
Low fluid is more common in the 3rd trimester, your doctor will judge it by your measurements and if they think something is wrong I'm sure they will make you have an ultrasound. 
My advice is don't worry about it unless a problem arises. Keep an eye on your baby's movements and if something feels off, go get checked. Best of luck to the rest of your pregnancy. I'm sorry to hear about your family member's baby.

if you have a gush of liquid coming out instead of discharge that is the fluid. If it's just normal discharge even if it's clear and a lot of it then it's not fluid. Also during ultrasounds the black area around the baby is the fluid so if it looked off or low the doctor would have informed you. If you want a piece of mind call the doctor and let them know what your going through and see if they can preform another ultrasound to make sure the baby has enough fluids in the womb. Sorry for your cousins loss as well. My prayers go to your family.

They measured your fluid at 19 weeks. Also you'd be measuring smaller than you should and that would raise a red flag. If your midwife isn't concerned then try to relax , she knows what to look out for.

I wouldn't worry about it unless the Midwife was worried, and measuring the fundal height isnt extremely accurate to thr point my ob didnt bother doing it ( but i had an ultrasound at 32 weeks since im big )

You cant just lose amniotic fluid. Unless you had a tear or your water breaks.  I honestly had.to change my undies 2-3× a day because of discharge
