Ever try bed sharing? It's amazing...
I'm a breastfeeding mother of 2, and I know how tired mom's can get, especially with a breastfeeding infant, so I felt obliged to share with all of you mine and my child's sleeping preferance, as well as our preferred way to breastfeed, and to tell you that nothing else compares. Of course I've tried the different ways ie: crib, bassinet, sleepers, Co sleepers etc.
I should mention -
-I don't smoke
-I don't use drugs
-I don't have any sleeping disorders
-only baby and I are in bed together
-normal mattress
- I lie on my side to sleep while he breastfeeds, and we alternate sides throughout the night.
The reason I'm sharing this with you all is because it works, it feels instinctively right. And i hope that i can help someone whose on the fence about it, or a mom who's just really freaking tired and wants to get some much needed sleep! Maybe you're feeling afraid to do it, or shameful for not doing what you're told, I get it. I was afraid to bed share because of everything I've been told from everybody, but i have since tossed those recommendations because they weren't for me.
The amount of sleep my baby and I get every night, the bonding we create, the effect this has on my milk supply, how safe and in tune i feel all night with him next to me, i imagine my baby feels the same, all of these things show me that I'm doing something right, and I didn't even have to think about it, it's instinctual.
