You have forgotten one important fact, Mancunians are a family. Like any family, we have our ups and our downs. Sometimes we disagree with our neighbours, sometimes we get annoyed over the smallest of things that are insignificant. Some of us are blue, some of us are red and some of us really don’t care. We argue amongst ourselves but rest assured when one of us hurts, we all hurt.
Our pain however, unites us as one. It does not make us weak but makes us grow taller with an uncompromising strength of determination. Manchester is an animal that you can never tame with your cowardly acts of aggression.
You seem to forget we are a city forged out of grit and determination. We have overcome so many tragic events in our history and we will continue to do so. Cowering in fear is something completely alien to us all.
We are proud to be Mancunians; we go out and we celebrate our diversity and culture. This is a part of who we are. It is built deep down in the depths of our DNA, and this is why we are known and admired the world over.
We will mourn those that have been needlessly murdered, we will support those that need our assistance and love over the coming weeks, months, and years. But we will continue to be brave, we will continue to be great and we will continue to be Manchester
