breast milk looks watered down?!??? 😳

Is this normal? Is it ok to feed to my son? It's normally wayyy thicker than this. Did I do anything to make it this way?? My diet hasn't really changed. And my son is only 12 days old.

It looks like foremilk, which is really watery. The foremilk is what keeps your baby hydrated, they need it!

If you let it sit for a while you'll see the fat rise to the top. The first milk that comes out is a little watery (it's called foremilk) and then later the hindmilk comes out (the fat) it's pretty cool. It's looks good to me!

It's all good. Your body changes your milk to what your child needs so maybe he is a little dehydrated so you're pumping more foremilk, no big deal. Your body is amazing just give him what comes out of the boob because it's what he needs at that moment.

Everyones milk is different. It usually is only colostrum rich for a few days. Do you pump alot? That may be why it changed so fast.
