Should he say something to her?

Okay, so I just got married this last Saturday! (Yay me!) My now husband has a son with another girl. We've been together for 4.5 out of the 6 years of his life. His son, calls me mommy (we tried to fix this by telling him to call me megan from the start but he was 1.5yrs old and my kids called me mommy and he couldn't say megan...we really tried for the first two years). We eventually gave up and she seemed okay with it because he called her Momma and me Mommy. She does however, hate me even though I've been super helpful for her schedule with him and have been there for their son for everything. She still bad mouths me to the son and to my husband.
Anyway. The day after we got married, we called his son to tell him the news (it was a destination elopement with no kids). My husband said "Guess what! Dadda and Mommy got married!" I said hi also and that we loved him. An hour later his mom texted my husband and said she heard everything, we were on speaker phone, and I am not his Mommy. She's been fine with this until now. My husband said he would say something because that was rude and no sense in causing drama after so long of this. But now he's changed his mind and He thinks he shouldn't have to say anything because she'll just get mad. 
So what would you guys want your husband to do?

She probably feels intimidated by your spot in her sons life, which I understand. But there's no point in being petty about it, especially if she's. been okay up until this point. Maybe sit down with her and explain that you don't want to replace her as his mother? If she's able to be an adult about it. But I think it's pretty cool, two moms instead of just one 😊

I'm in the same boat. My husband and I got married in September and he has a 6 year old son from previous marriage. It has been hell let me just say. I love this little boy tho with all of my heart. Ive been in his life for 2 years and the last like 10 months he's called me mom. His mother HATES it. She tells him all the time she's not your mom you dont have to listen to her and all that junk. I've been nothing but good to her son and treat him as my own. My husband  110% has my back. We are married and there fore I am his step mom. My husband and I have never forced him to call me mom he actually at age 5 asked if he could call me that. I told him absolutely but he doesn't have to. Your husband should stand behind you and his sons mom needs to deal with it  it isn't her place to say. If the child is comfortable then she needs to accept it

She seems threatened, I would just let her chill rather than make a big ordeal about it. I'm sure it will be done & over with by the time you get back from your honeymoon eveything will be back to normal

I understand it's frustrating, but you have to see how heartbreaking it is from her perspective as well. This is all very fresh. Maybe wait a couple weeks and then have a calm discussion with her about whether she is still okay with him calling you mommy. It seems like it was never formally discussed and SHE was the one who just let it go instead of fighting with you
