Should Mom Shaming Be Against The Rules?

Question

I've seen way too many posts that seem to be mom shaming. Disagreeing is one thing but telling mom they are wrong for making decisions for their children is another...should this be against the rules in the forums all together? If you say it should be allowed, what's your reasoning? This is not directed at anybody. Before anybody gets confused...this isn't that.

Shaming against ANYONE on glow is in fact against the rules.
Unfortunately,  in real world,  there's no rule against that other than the act itself being rude af

Depends on the user. Some people on here are waaaay too sensitive & think disagreeing is shaming, regardless of how you say it.

I guess it would have to depend on how "mom shaming" is defined. Telling someone they are wrong, and disagreeing are kinda the same thing.

I believe in constructive criticism, however shaming a person and telling them they're wrong, ignorant, horrible, selfish, controlling, etc... etc... is not constructive criticism and it falls under the category of being rude which is clearly against the rules. If you can't give constructive criticism in a positive way, without shaming someone, then you obviously need to take a step back and ask yourself, "is this helpful?" If not, then leave it alone. Yes, I think this should be policed on Glow because I've seen way too many Moms asking for help and advice and people just lay into her and I feel sorry for the op because sometimes, it takes a lot for someone to ask for help and sometimes, they really don't know what they're doing wrong and people just nit pick. They don't even try to offer up any sound advice. Just criticizing them for being irresponsible, or not deserving their children. It's really pitiful. Motherhood is hard enough, and I really do think that we all have to make decisions for our kiddos. Sometimes, we mess up. Other times, we don't. But, it's a learning opportunity for us all. Some of us, are trumybtrying our best. And there is no such thing as a perfect parent. I've had some really successful moments as a Mother, but that doesn't mean that I don't make mistakes. Everyone does from time to time, but with a little constructive criticism, patience and understanding, we can be better.

Shaming is not okay, but I think many people on here are too sensitive and think they are being "shamed" when they really aren't.
