Do I need a 2nd opinion?
Roughly 3 months ago I had to take my daughter (age 1) to the ER, i thought her arm was broken but the doctor called it "nursemaids elbow." to my understanding it means her elbow was pulled out of socket. The doctor bent her and twisted it a little bit, gave her some tylenol and said we could go that she would be fine. Within minutes she was using her arm again.
Yesterday about 5pm my husband called me at work and told me we had to take her to the hospital again because he believed my son (age 3) pulled her elbow out of socket again. So we get to the ER and the doctor does the same thing the last doctor did. But this time she says nothing feels out of place so she wants to get an xray... She comes back and and says she ONLY xrayed the elbow but that it looks perfect. "My daughter must have gotten nurse maids elbow again and it popped itself back into place" during which time my daughter is still screaming in pain. The nurse comes in with some tylenol while i am trying to get my daughter to use her arm to reach for multiple items, her favorite toy, a cracker, her bottle, her brothers sippy cup and my cell phone.. None of which she reaches for.. Only looks at them and cries. The doctor rubs on her arm some more then says we can go that my daughter will be fine..
Here it is almost 12 hours later my daughter tries to grab things but mover her arm all weird and cant lift anything up more than about an inch.. Im worried the doctor was wrong and she is still hurting..she still cries everytime she moves her arm or someone touches it.. I just dont know if i should take her to the other hospital in town.. I dont need another hospital bill for them to tell me im over reacting..
