Is there such a thing as like an African American get together? Just a get together to celebrate their culture and hang out with each other? I take care of little african american girl (she's my sister-in-law) and she has no african american influence in her life. Because of that she pretty much shuns that part of her. It breaks my heart seeing her practically hate herself and not want anything to do with her african culture. I try to teach her about it and show her how beautiful it but it's just not the same coming from me.
