Is this normal?
To start off, I'm 29 years old with no previous pregnancies. I'm in a serious relationship and we are trying to avoid pregnancy. I was on BC until I lost my insurance. Now, we use condoms but there have been a few times we haven't. My cycle is a regular 28 days. My period is usually 3-5 days and the cramping is usually minor.
I have had a suspicion that I may have gotten pregnant this month. I was trying to wait to see if I got my period before testing. It ended up being 3 days early. I can't remember the last time it was more than a day early. I'm a little puzzled this time because the blood is bright red and light. The first day of my period is usually dark red/brown and heavy. The cramps are also pretty intense this time around. I had to take 4 extra strength tylenols just to make it to work today. I have a pretty bad headache, also.
I tried googling, but I was finding anything helpful... Mostly about implantation bleeding (Because it's early and light) and miscarriage (because of the bad cramps).
I try to stay pretty aware of how my body is feeling and this isn't typical for me. What is my body trying to tell me? Is this anything I should be worried about?
Edit Saturday Morning: It seems like both the bleeding and the cramps have stopped... Which confuses me even more! I will continue to monitor and still plan on testing on Monday, which is one day past expected period.
