Is this normal?

To start off, I'm 29 years old with no previous pregnancies. I'm in a serious relationship and we are trying to avoid pregnancy. I was on BC until I lost my insurance. Now, we use condoms but there have been a few times we haven't. My cycle is a regular 28 days. My period is usually 3-5 days and the cramping is usually minor.

I have had a suspicion that I may have gotten pregnant this month. I was trying to wait to see if I got my period before testing. It ended up being 3 days early. I can't remember the last time it was more than a day early. I'm a little puzzled this time because the blood is bright red and light. The first day of my period is usually dark red/brown and heavy. The cramps are also pretty intense this time around. I had to take 4 extra strength tylenols just to make it to work today. I have a pretty bad headache, also.

I tried googling, but I was finding anything helpful... Mostly about implantation bleeding (Because it's early and light) and miscarriage (because of the bad cramps).

I try to stay pretty aware of how my body is feeling and this isn't typical for me. What is my body trying to tell me? Is this anything I should be worried about?

Edit Saturday Morning: It seems like both the bleeding and the cramps have stopped... Which confuses me even more! I will continue to monitor and still plan on testing on Monday, which is one day past expected period.

If your worried just take a test. It could be normal. Cycles are weird.

Two more negative tests since my last post. What is frustrating is that all of these "pregnancy" symptoms are getting worse. I guess for now, I will just deal with the symptoms and just hold out for my next period. The last one was very strange for me, though. It's really hard to not have insurance right now... It would cost $90 to see the doctor. I can't even go to PP because their open hours coincide with my work schedule, and I'm not able to take off work.I doubt anyone is reading this post. I just keep updating because many times people don't update and I'm always wondering what happened.

I ended up spotting until Sunday. I took a test on Sunday and it was negative. I think it may have been too early... I'm still experiencing light cramping and a few other possible symptoms. Going to try testing again either tomorrow or Thursday.
