Cycle whilst breastfeeding?

I am currently breastfeeding my 14 month old and i just got my first period back last month so im not sure of how my cycles will be now. But if theyre anything like how they were before i would have gotten my period today but it hasnt arrived and i got a BFN this morning. So my question is, how was/is your cycle during breastfeeding?

Breastfeeding hormones mess up your cycles. You may get a period some months, may not other months. If you aren't trying to get pregnant, I'd use protection or bc as you probably won't know your cycles until you stop bf. if you are trying to get pregnant, try to have sex every other day and know it could take either a little longer to conceive (or maybe shorter) denying how your hormones are that month
