When is a good time to take the test after a miscarriage?

I had a natural miscarriage April 16 2017. Everything came out in tack that day. But I still haven't had my 1st period. What should I do? I took a test after my miscarriage and it was negative. I've been feeling some signs but unsure.

Sorry for your loss, I was 13w1d on April 16th and started spotting spent the day in emergency and was sent home assured everything was fine. That night I went in to labour and ended up requiring an emergency d and c April 17th. I had a missed miscarriage where the baby had suddenly stopped developing around 10 and half weeks, I had previously seen it twice on ultrasound heart beating and growth on track so it was a massive shock. I have just gotten my first period since it took just over 5 weeks, the day before I tested and had a very faint positive the next morning it was even less visible. If you've already seen a negative you should be able to test and get a true result however I would be going straight for bloods and hen getting repeats to confirm it's raising appropriately all the best xx
