Which ones are best out of these two options?

I just started my period yesterday and I've been using my mothers pads. I dislike my mother pads, for day wear. So, I think I might buy my own. I've been having a kinda light flow. My mother's pads are for heavy

(I think they are for heavy flows. I think that's why they're bulky and uncomfortable)

I've been having a light flow

I'd use tampons or a menstrual cup but I am not allowed to use anything other than a pad.
