Yeast infection:edit
So my mom works at a pharmacy, and she's good friends with the dr across the street. Usually if I tell her I have a yeast infection, she'll call him and ask him to send over a prescription to get rid of it. He always does. Well I went to him not that long ago for strep. He gave me really strong antibiotics because it was a really bad case of strep (I had a 105 temp and I couldn't even swallow because my throat was so inflamed). Well now I'm better from the strep but I have a yeast infection from hell. I told my mom and rather than calling it in like she usually does she told me "Take some probiotics. You're fine." Ok. Great. Tried that. It's not going away!!! I told her that and she told me to just keep up with it and eat some yogurt. TRIED. THAT. What do I do now????? (Sidenote monistat never works for me and is a waste of money because its never been able to get rid of a yeast infection for me.) My skin is literally scratched up and painful because it itches so bad. She's not helping at all.
Edit: I did want to respond to the comment but I didn't want to come off of anon. It is actually legal. A pharmacist can even write prescriptions. I've gone and shadowed a few times. If the medicine is a C-2 or higher, the prescription must come from a Dr. But if it isn't an addictive medication the pharmacist could write it or the dr could just call it in without seeing the patient (as long as they know the diagnosis such as in this case with something like a yeast infection). Also if the medication has been filled for the patient before the pharmacist can call the dr and ask for a refill for the patient.
