Giving your SO SPACE?

What is giving your partner space consist of ?

Depends on the relationship and person. I need my space so I'll go up to our room for an hour or two and read or just sit in the quiet with my laptop. He'll play video games. I walk every night by myself, etc. Friends of ours don't live together and the one is extremely introverted so they see each other a few times a month, even having dated 2 years lol I think it's a bit extreme but they're fine with it. It simply depends on your situation.

Contrary to what most women on here are saying, space is healthy. I'm not the type of girl who needs to be with my SO 24/7, it's just not how the women in my family are raised. I'd say giving someone space means giving them some privacy, not always having to do the same things, being okay with being alone, and being okay with your SO doing some activities alone. Space is healthy so each of you can grow as an individual, and as a couple.

I let him go camping or fishing. I'll go for a run or to the gym and take my time there. Or I'll go get my nails, hair or eyelashes done.

In my case, not being together. We don't ask each other for space because we talk things out and solve problems together. We don't need to do it separately. That's us, though. Keep us posted.

We don't give eachother space cuz we love being around eachother all the time we get along perfectly but he works and goes to the rock climbing gym or goes for a jog and I just stay home and cook lol

We don't actually give each other "space", but there are things we do alone. He goes to the gym faithfully every morning at 6am and that's his time away from me. He also likes to go to the grocery store on his own on weekend mornings. Sometimes I go, sometimes I don't. I have my time weekday afternoons between 4pm and 6pm because I get off work everyday at 3:30pm. I use that to do whatever I want, so that when he walks in I can give him all of my attention.

Been together three years and he's never wanted "space", but when I want space I'll soak in the tub 🛀 and tell him I need "Privacy" (code for I need to take a dunk; go away).
