is what's it called when a girl.....

So every since you were little and as you were growing up, all you see is your dad being mean to your mom. You get a boyfriend and he's so mean to you but you love him even more because that's all you know. You think love is when someone is mean to you because that all you would see from your mom and your dad. What is that called? Is that a thing? Can someone please give me more details about this? Sorry it's for a friend I need to know more about this. Anything would really help. I love reading all of your advice😊
