Have you rented a car seat?

If so through which company? Were you happy with it? We are going to CA in Oct and can't decide if we should rent one or bring our own. I am worried about ours getting damaged on the way there but don't know the quality of rental ones.

I wouldn't rent, there is no way of knowing the history of the car seat, has it been involved in any accidents, cleaned correctly etc.
I would just buy your child their own seat on the plane and use your own car seat.

I've looked at the car seat rentals the last time I rented a car and they were all dingy and gross looking and all of them looked beat up.  I bought a $40 cosco scenera next seat to travel with.

I don't know if would be able to trust a rental. If I ever travel my child will be in their car seat because it's safer and then I won't have to deal with worrying about the seat being damaged either.

we will be renting one with our car rental when we go to california in the middle of june. it worked out to be cheaper than flying ours or buying one while we are out there.
