Finally had my lil chunky butt

Kimberly

Finally had my lil chunky butt! I was supposed to be induced Saturday May 27 at 38 weeks (because I have type 2 diabetes). Well Thursday morning around 5 AM I was awakened by a "pop" and my water breaking! I made it to the hospital by 6:30 AM with full blown contractions. That's when they discovered it was quite a bit of meconium (baby poop) in the fluid. By 3 :30PM I hadn't really made much progress. They had to give me a shot to slow up my contractions because they said they were coming in too fast and every time I had one the baby's heart rate would drop so off to get a C Section I went! Once the got him out they realized that he had managed to tie a knot in the umbilical cord some how. They said he was lucky to be alive and if it hadn't have been for me having a thick cord he might not have even made it. He is currently in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) because he swallowed some of the meconium and since I am diabetic he was born with low blood sugar. He is doing really good now and hopefully will be able to come home Tuesday or Wednesday. This lil guy is truly a miracle. I'm 35, have PCOS, was on birth control (for my periods) when he was conceived, plus all the drama during labor and he still survived and is such a happy baby!
