Has anyone else been diagnosed with an irritable uterus? Friday night I had contractions for 2 hours that increased to every 3-4 minutes and lasted over 1 minute. I called the OB on call, and they wanted me to check in to the L&D triage. I'm a FTM and my cervix was closed. They gave me 2 liters of IV fluids, which did not help. They finally gave me a terbutaline shot, and the contractions stopped.  I was sent home after just a few hours.

They told me to "take it easy," but I thought I already was! I'm staying hydrated and peeing every time I feel the need. I'm only 35 wks and really want to avoid a premie if possible.

They said these were not Braxton Hicks... now I'm so worried!

Did anyone else experience this? Any advice?
