Calcium supplements?

Should I be taking a calcium supplement along with my prenatal ? I read an article about your bones getting brittle and causeing problems down the line if you don't take it during pregnancy .. do you or should you take it during pregnancy ?

Are you eating healthy? Do you drink milk? Eat leafy greens? Have you checked your prenatals for calcium amount?

Ask your OB. But if your worried, start eating food with calcium in it. It's better for your body to digest and you can get more out of it. You can also buy calcium fortified orange juice. Yogurt is great too. Even some veggies.

I am personally but my OB said it was up to me and not absolutely necessary

You can also take a supplement when you're postpartum. That's when your body starts refilling all the resources it used during pregnancy. However if you don't plan to wait the recommend 24 months between pregnancies I highly suggest you take additional supplements.

It depends on how much calcium you're eating already. My OB had recommended that I take a supplement as I don't eat much dairy.
