I thought this was hilarious.... I have a wonderful job teaching music for a small school district. I teach all of the elementary students k-5 and then teach the trumpet and French horn beginning band class for 6th grade and get to do a little bit with the high school. Currently, I am on a band trip with high school students that qualified for the state competition... I kept my pregnancy a secret from all of my younger students for as long as I could and I told them right before summer vacation. Now, I just kinda figured with all the people who DO know I'm expecting, the high school kids would know too. Yesterday, on our trip, my husband and I and the other band directors were getting on the elevator at the hotel and some kids tried to cut and get on! I jokingly said, "oh no you don't! I'm pregnant and I've seriously got to go to the bathroom." One kid went on around and said "no you're not!" I shouted "I am too!" and pointed at my bump! He was shocked and said, "since when?" And I said "uhh... December!" Then all the kids went crazy! Apparently, they didn't know! It made my day. I just figured they all had heard and no one really cared. Guess I was wrong!
