What should I bring with me to the beach with an infant?

My son is 10 weeks old and we live relatively close to the beach. Within the next few weeks I would love to go to the beach and I would take him with me since I don't have anyone I trust to babysit him yet. What should I bring? Specific product recommendations? I'm planning to have him out of the sun so he doesn't get burned or too hot. What's the best way to do that? What sunscreen brand should I put on him just to be double safe? Thanks!

I read somewhere that you can take a fitted sheet and use back packs to hold the edges of the sheet upwards so sand won't get in. There should be baby beach hacks online

They say no sunscreen until 6 months. You won't want baby getting sand in the face, or too much sun, we have a small beach tent for babies with a bottom to prevent sand, with uv protection cover. Wear a long sleeve rash guard and bucket hat.

I wouldn't take a baby that little to the beach. I would be scared of the sun and the heat. But that's just me 🤷🏼‍♀️

We live on beach and invested in a pop up tent. Tent should have a mesh window and keep open on other side otherwise it gets super hot in there. Especially when they are that small keep them covered for sure. Portable/clip on fan with soft blades. I clip this to side of tent or stroller as it gets so hot here. If you continue living on beach with kids a beach wagon to carry everything...we have two kids and one on the way it's definetly worth your sanity to invest in one.

Sun hat is a must have at all times. Something to shade baby with. 
Blanket incase it gets windy as beaches can do.
Personally i wouldnt put baby on a blanket for fear a gush of wind could blow sand in babies face. Id use car seat with the cover over maybe.

I have 3 kids one on the way the beach is a must for us sense the 2 are older my son now 15 months last summer I got a pop up tent and keeped baby out off the sun as much as possible spent a lot of time in his diaper in the shade I also got him a swimming suit and hat that's spf 50 the brand is coolbar they make awesome swimming gear for kiddos! 
Don't think people understand it's ok to take baby out in the sun as heat!😜 just be same

My baby was 4 months when we went on vacation, not 10 weeks, but my pediatrician said the 6 month rule is outdated and it's fine to use sunscreens with less chemicals in them. It's better to use sunscreen than to burn.  Blue Lizard was one that she recommended. I can't remember the others she listed but blue lizard worked well for us so we stick with that.

You CAN do sunscreen. Talk to your doctor. 
Mine gave us samples to test on his skin to be sure he didn't have a reaction (almost 5 months old). 
They recommended staying out of direct sunlight, get a good sun hat, long sleeve swim shirt. 
Bring a battery powered little fan and feed often (especially if you breastfeed)
