Sunscreen?? Is it ok to use on a almost 5 month old?

I'm going on vacation (to the beach) this weekend and I'm not sure if sunscreen will be to much for his sensitive skin, please help & if safe to use which brand is a good one

Call your dr if you are too concerned!

Mine said limit direct sunlight, keep in shade and try not to be out in the hottest part of the day.

They gave us sunscreen samples to test on his skin to be sure no reaction. We chose babyganics mineral based sunscreen.

Also said to wipe off after protection isn't needed, but apply liberally and often.

Get a good hat and a swimsuit that is long sleeved 😊

We have babyganics sunscreen and insect repellent for our trip to the beach coming up.  I also got her a long sleeve swim suit and hat for when we go out.  She will be just barely six months but the pediatrician said the sunscreen will be just fine at 3 months.

We talked with our pediatrician who said she'd always told people 6 months, but had a parent challenge her on why. When she did some digging, she said there is NO reason not to use sunscreen before that, BUT DO NOT RELY ON IT. Limit sun exposure and use as a precautionary measure.

Any sunscreen for sensitive skin will work (baby-branded is just marketing), but after reading reviews I decided to try Neutrogena Baby and Coppertone Baby. Both are mineral-only. The Coppertone spreads more easily, but I have a fair-skinned ginger, so I don't mind the thick, white residue of the Neutrogena. Hope this helps!

Was just at the pediatrician today and she said both sunscreen and big repellent are fine to use. She suggested a mineral based sunscreen tho.

At our 4 month check-up, our pediatrician told us to make sure she has sun protection and gave us samples of baby sunscreen. I've used it a few times and just don't put any on her hands since she chews then constantly. The Dr was more concerned with is keeping her hydrated while out in the heat.

My pediatrician said if I wanted I could try a mineral sunscreen; it's all natural. She said to do a small skin patch test in the sun before applying it all over. It was a success. We use Badger Baby. I purchased it on Amazon. It has received high ratings on multiple sites for best sunscreens for babies.

Use a sunscreen that's specifically for babies and test a small area on their arm to make sure there no allergic reaction. Def pair the sunscreen with a hat and keeping him/ her shaded somehow. I'm worried about the summer months as well
