Useful or Not Necessary?

I have one of those car seat head holder things to keep the baby's head in place when they are itty bitty. My friend, who has 2 babies, told me you can roll up a receiving blanket and it works just the same. Im debating on returning the head rest so i can cross off more useful items, but i don't know if that's a good or bad idea.

Your car seat already comes with one.

These types of products are not allowed by the car seat manufacturers because they are NOT CRASH TESTED with the seat. Car seats have to pass strict guidelines for crash worthiness and these products do not.

They could interfere with the proper functioning of your seat. Nothing that didn't come with the seat should come between the child and the seat or the child and the straps. Receiving blankets are okay because they placed around the child, not behind it.

Your manual will state what is/isn't allowed for use including aftermarket covers, strap covers, positioning devices, having toys, etc.

We had to get one for my son because his head was so teeny and his neck so floppy lol I worry about receiving blankets getting lose and covering them on the road /: just my weird mommy worry lol
