Who knows anything about witch hazel?

So I put it on my face and went to the gym after and my face stung really bad, is this normal? Usually it never bothers my face if I don't go to the gym.

It's an astringent, it probably reacted with your sweat and caused some burning. I wouldn't use it until night time when you won't be doing anything afterwards.

I only use it at night but I put Shea butter on my face afterwards

It get's into ur pores, so if ur exercising ur opening ur pores and letting the astringent in which is gonna sting. 
It's best to use as a toner right before bed, or mix with water if its still stinging :)

I think you're supposed to put it on before bed. My mom said she used it for acne before
