should I try an IUD after already having a bad experience with one?

Ka
I tried the marina when I was 16 and it made me have contractions randomly as well as lose a lot of hair.
I read that typically the IUD is not recommended for people who have never had kids because it can be painful, so I figured maybe that's why.
I'm 23 now and I've never had kids still, but I've had 2 miscarriages and I just want to avoid going through that again. The shot made me gain weight and continuously have my period for almost a whole year and I'm too forgetful for the pill.
I was thinking of trying the Copper IUD unless there's something better on the market that you guys might be able to recommend. I'm also a type one diabetic with PCOS if that makes a difference. Thanks
