*KIND OF A RANT BUT WOULD ALSO LIKE OPINIONS*
I know everyone parents differently and in my opinion, most parents want to find the easy way out of parenting. I work in a salon where we offer toys and a play area for children. I've noticed though, that hardly any kids ever want to actually go over there and play. Instead, they want their parents phone or iPad. One little girl who was about 2 had her moms phone and watching a video of kids playing with toys instead of actually wanting to herself. I thought that was so bizarre. Her mom said she watches those videos all of the time and would rather do that then go play in her room or outside. When I was that age I was always outside. Playing with sidewalk chalk, riding my bike, making mud pies, doing whatever the day had time for. But now. Kids just sit inside on a handheld device for hours! Yeah some apps are educational and could help with development. But how young is too young for them to have their face put in a screen? Do you think technology is destroying the creativity in our children? I learned my numbers, ABCs, colors, etc. without an app. Why can't kids do that today? Lazy parents making lazy kids. 🙄
