Is he serious about us?

My ex recently admitted that he still loves me and would like to give us a try again and I didn't really reassure him of my feelings..  and lately he's just inconsistent. He talks to me every other day if I'm lucky. What does this mean
Sidenote. I do love him and would like to give things a try but I'm so scared of getting my heart broken again so I don't flirt back when he does. I just avoid it completely

I went through this a while ago with my boyfriend (we got back together after a six month split). Initially he had to email me because I refused to answer the phone, etc. I was still in love with him but I was terrified of getting hurt- he wanted to stay friends and that wasn't working well for my feelings. Once we reconnected we talked pretty frequently. He reached out pretty much daily but he did get very nervous at one point that I wasn't serious about getting back together or I was too damaged from the first time to even try. He did stop texting me and calling- I had to reach out a bit. Even though he was the one initiating things he still needed reassurance that I was considering it.

Getting back together with an ex is something most people always say is a bad idea. But if the reasons for your breakup have been resolved and are now a non-issue (or at the very least something you can and are very committed to working on) then getting back together isn't a bad thing. It's scary to jump back in and even now when I'm having a really bad day or something happens I worry we're going to fall apart again (I've got trust issues already so it makes it worse). We work at our relationship every day and is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Just make sure you still love him and that you are both 100% committed to try to make this work. I quite literally wrote out a list of questions (it was coloured coded and everything) that I needed answered and took that (the final draft- I rewrote it a number of times) to our meeting/date. We went through it and it really helped me feel secure in our relationship again.

A few years ago that happened to me.  And now I'm married to my so called ex. Sometimes it can be a blessing. We've been together for 8 years on and off a couple times and now married for 4 years and having our second baby together this month.

I don't blame you on not putting your all into it again because your unsure but if you're holding back and you have doubts why bother with it? Sometimes people go back to exes because they're use to them, sometimes they're still in love or some other reasons...speaking from experience...

You should talk to him about this. I'm sorry but no one on this app is gonna be able to tell if he's serious or why he's acting the way he is. 😕 only he knows that.
