It was a week after my 18th birthday, I was a senior in high school, and he was my first boyfriend. I was raised in a strict christian home and originally planned to wait until marriage but woke up one day and made the decision that I was ready.

I came from a really sheltered home and my parents were extremely strict, I hated it growing up but I ended up not having sex till I was 21 and a senior in college. He was my first boyfriend, first kiss, first everything and two years later he's still the love of my life. I'm kind of thankful to my parents because I know having sex too young can lead to emotional hardships and regrets later so I feel I was in a way protected from that.

I was way too young and not prepared for the emotional impact that it had. I wish I had waited until I was older. At least college.
