We do, but we usually are agreeing with each other

Sometimes. My mom and my partner don't get along too well, so sometimes we discuss stuff she does that annoys both of us. Plus, sometimes habits of his family that he doesn't notice get on my nerves. We feel that we have to talk about it in order to be honest with another about our feelings, and it helps us know when our family's are annoying our partner in order to help mitigate it or relieve stress later.

I find it disrespectful my rule is if u don't want it to be done to you then don't do it to them I can maybe listen to him bitching about his family but I would never chime in . I'm like that I can bitch and complain but once you start chiming in and agreeing I would get pissed

Yep. We just got done doing that actually. His brother and his wife and their family make me feel so unwelcome... I feel like a black sheep there. They don't talk to me and even when I try to hold conversation they just kinda brush me off. SO is on his way to TN with his brother and he wanted me to stay at his brother and SIL house (they live with her parents) with their 6 kids and 5 dogs.. I feel uncomfortable and so unwelcome and like I'm constantly being whispered about...  I broke down into an almost-throwing-up cry and refused.... I'm still fighting mad.

No I wouldn't bitch about his family..its disrespecting him. I bitch about his friends..and he wouldn't dare bitch about my family he would get a right big back hander on his cheek. X
