Mixed Babies?

All babies are beautiful in my personal opinion but either way.

Do you think there's an obsession with mixed babies?

I have a friend and she told me she always wanted a baby with nice hair and light eyes and because her boyfriend is "1/3rd" white that is what she's going to get... 🤦🏾‍♀️

I see and hear a lot of ignorant comments sometimes.  i.e. 👆🏾

What is your opinion on this?

I'm biracial and there's definitely a fetishization of biracial children. I've always been told we're the best looking and everyone wants their kids to look like us. I think it's ridiculous. And we don't all come out with light eyes. When my wife and I were picking a donor for our son we received some really rude comments for choosing a black donor instead of a biracial one like myself because my son would be "too black". It's crazy how people put biracial people on a pedestal. And FYI my son, who is 75% black 25% Italian, has lighter eyes and hair than me who's 50/50.

I'm white and when I was pregnant and people would find out the father was black, they would go nuts telling me how beautiful my light skinned, light eyed baby was gonna be. Like wtf, baby could come out w nothing but black features or nothing but white features, and then what? My child wouldn't be beautiful? I always hated those comments and they were constant! From black people, white people, everyone.

My daughter is biracial and nothing annoys me more than people assuming I married my husband for beautiful children only. Yes of course theirs 'some" women who stoop that low but I honestly don't think it's a huge thing that people make it out to be

One person comes to mind.
There's this girl in my Facebook that, unfortunately , had a miscarriage with her then gf

Then , they broke up and she started to post tons and tons of pics of mixed babies (first baby was 100% white)

Then one day , she posted a status about asking for a black male'a sperm (I'm not kidding) then boom, baby came. They are not together. But she's all about her mixed baby this , mixed baby that.

It's so bizarre.

A "trend" in my area is moving from black dudes to Spanish dudes and it's so sickening. I guess the (white) girls realized how dumb they looked claiming to be .0000008% black and it's ~easier~ to claim they're "half" Hispanic. It's definitely fetishization and gross and idk... idk how to explain it. It just feels "set up"-- like for breeding purposes only. Not cause they love someone.. and it's gross to create life out of that. Hopefully someone can break down what I'm observing in a better way.

1/3 white? Really? The chances of that "white" recessive gene to come out are slimmer than you'd think.

My son is mixed Hispanic and white and everyone goes crazy over his eyes. They are a brownish green color and I honestly dont even think that you can tell hes mixed by looking at him.

I am very fair skinned and my husband is a dark skinned Latino. I never had any comments about our children being mixed (other than a friend thinking it would be awesine if we wound up with a redhead with a dark complexion). But I am sure some fetishize mixed people. I am guessing in part because sometimes mixed babies present less common combinations of physical traits (i.e. darker skin with light eyes) which can be striking because of their uniqueness. That's just a guess, though.

I'm biracial but no I don't think they're made a big deal out of. People have the misconception that we all come out looking the same with the same features. That's not how it works.
