So annoying you can't edit posts. Anyway, here's a pic of my daughter's hemangioma. She's 10 mos now and I think it's starting to recede.

Looks like a hemangioma (also known as a strawberry spot). They generally grow larger during their 1st year, then recede and usually disappear by the time they're 10 years old, often sooner. One or two are nothing to worry about, the doctor will look at it each appointment. If they have several it can sometimes be a sign of a liver problem. My daughter has one on her knee.

I would think that it is a birth mark, but definitely wouldn't hurt to show it to the doctor your next visit so it can be looked at and then monitored if necessary. Don't panic tho, I don't think it is anything you need to be concerned about

My son has one on his back. The doctor measured it at each appointment and as he's grown it hasn't. He is now 6 and you can barely see it.

My sister had that on her chest from birth-7 years. I forgot what it was called I believe it's nothing to be alarmed about that just make sure pediatrician takes a look
