34 weeks with an aged placenta ??

Question

Had doc app two days ago and they said my placenta is aged it looks like a 40+ week one and I'm only 34 weeks ... Anyone else exp this what was the outcome ? Have to have ultrasounds done every week now to keep an eye on little man

How the heck did they diagnose an old placenta? Were there symptoms that tipped them off? Never heard of that. Wow:/

Same here. Mine too is special pregnancy and they noticed cerebral redistribution to fetus in color Doppler done after sudden reduction in fetal movements (I was 32 weeks by then). So my Dr suggegeated another color Doppler a week later it came out normal but growth was not as expected. And then they noticed thicker placenta. They had my u/s every week for past 4 weeks and finally I will be having c section on 26th March (will be having 36 weeks maturity).

I have a high risk pregnancy so I see a special list and a regular ob doctor my specialist does ultrasounds every two weeks and it was spotted at my last ultra sound so now I have to have them done EVERY week the good thing is baby boy weighs 5lbs 12oz already

Doc said yes they will have to IF my placenta quits functioning wich 9 times out of 10 it will :(

What does that mean? Will they have to induce you pre-term?
