Do you cover your baby up?

Question

My newborn HATES being swaddled. My mom told me to put her in jumpers to keep her warm and tuck a blanket around her. She sleeps in her swing for now until we get her crib next week. Which someone mentioned to me is dangerous? It doesn't sit up barley at all. 
 Does anyone else cover their baby? I'm terrified of SIDS but i dont know what else to do.

Newborns aren't supposed to sleep in a swing because they can't control their head enough and it can fall forward and they can suffocate.  And there are plenty of alternatives to keep your baby warm at night . sleep sacks are fantastic and you can layer them with long-sleeve onesies! Halo makes some great ones.

Baby should be on a flat firm surface. Swings are bad bc the airway can get blocked off when the babies head changes position and baby has no head control that early to move so their airways are open. Try a sleep sack of you can many babies tolerate it better then the swaddle.

We put our son in a co sleeper in his own bed in a sleeper with a blanket tucked around him. It's the only way he'll sleep without being held and hates being swaddled and he's 7 weeks if that makes you feel any better.

We dressed ours in footsie PJs and kept the room comfortable. He stayed warm 😁
