Smoking weed while breastfeeding?

I was told this isn't allowed? Yet I know moms who do? I'm confused. Can it harm my baby if I do? What can I do if I have smoked? Can pumping help like when you drink?

Cocaine isn't "allowed" but people still do it. But no it's not recommended. THC stays in the body far longer than nicotine and alcohol.

I wouldn't.. it definitely passes through milk, and I've read that the content is higher than it is in the mothers blood stream when it stays. Whoever those mothers are are extremely selfish. I smoked before I got pregnant, loved it and am a full supporter of marijuana use ASIDE from while breastfeeding/ late pregnancy(as in after 20 weeks or so) It's just not worth it or the risks it could bring both legally and physically to the baby.

Marijuana has been shown to affect infants through breast milk. It does not cycle out of your breast milk like alcohol or medication does because it is stored in your fat cells. Your body uses fat in part to produce breast milk so as long as your body is storing the THC, it will continue to show up in your breast milk and that can be weeks or months or longer if you are a constant user.
Please also be aware that in some states should your baby ever be drug tested, Child Protective Services can be called because they would test positive for marijuana taken in through your breast milk. I'm not making any kind of a judgement I'm just letting you know the facts.

Smoking anything while pregnant is bad. Plus they drug test when you given birth. When you drink it'll leave your breast milk in a few hours. Weed will stay for at least a month.
