Kicked out Because of a Snickers Bar?

I know the title sounds crazy, but the situation is real. I have a 13 year old brother who is severely allergic to peanuts. My parents are extremely militant about it. Cant go to restaurants, can't have anything peanut in the house, they get mad when we go to family members house and they don't put their peanut butter or candy away.I honestly thinks it's outrageous. I've always loved peanut butter, I don't eat much so I used to eat it as a way to get steady nutrition. Anyway, I'm in college and full time, even over the summer. I had a very big project due today, and had met with my partner 6 hours before class to do finishing touches. I bought a snickers bar from the vending machine, and placed the wrapper in my bag. When I got home, my mom went through my stuff and found the wrapper. I got threatened to be kicked out the next time I bring peanut products in the home. They treat it like its weed, or illegal. My father is allowed peanut butter cups and all those types of things. Unless my brother went through my bag, the wrapper would have had no contact with him. I have no hate towards my brother or his allergy but I think my parents go overboard. What do you guys think? This was kinda a vent/ question.
