advise please

Been to see my gyne and IVF consultant today and he said that the ovulation home tests are rubbish and shouldn't be used as there very in accurate so I'm confessed now!! Also If anyone in England or Wales know how long from the 1st consultantion with the IVF consultant does it normally take for action to be taken?? Many thanks all been 7 years trying probs more and 4 miscarriages just want a baby to complete us xx
