So,I'm not sure where to post so please don't flip out if you feel it's in the wrong room. Today I babysat for a new family in my home. I've never met them or their kids until today and they only needed me for today. Well the Mom tells me the 4yr old has mild autism,doesn't speak and isn't potty trained. The 2 yr old doesn't speak and isn't potty trained either and I'm guessing she has autism as well but it might be too soon to diagnose. Well the little boy had a black eye that looked like it was healing so it was a reddish blue and a couple scratches and bruises. The little girls face was covered in bruises and scratches and her body had some bruises and scratches all over her leg and arms and a bite mark on her back thigh. I really wish I could post a pic too show yall but I'm respecting her privacy. I asked my neighbor to come over and take a look for a second opinion. She flipped and agreed with me that child services should be contacted but once I told her the eldest was autistic and the little girl too her reaction changed. She said children with autism inflict harm on themselves and others when they are having a tantrum. She said because of the autism I should not contact CPS because more than likely the kids are either doing it to each other or themselves...What are your thoughts on this?I'm conflicted and now second guessing the situation....Oh they were both also very dirty,greasy hair,really dirty ears ,dirt under nails and dirty skin. My neighbors defense was some autistic kids don't like to be touched or bathed,but they both allowed me to touch and hold them just fine
