can I pick breastfeeding back up after quitting?

I was told he wasn't getting enough milk, he was losing weight and never seemed satisfied, on top of that my nipples were cracked and bleeding. It was so painful. I gave up and he has been formula feeding for nearly 2 weeks.. I regret quitting. Is it too late to start again? I haven't leaked at all in the last few days :(

You can. Go to Kellymom.com and look up relactating and weaning from formula.

I was in the same situation. Pain, bleeding, stress, weight issues. I formula fed for three weeks - attempted to pump but never responded. I stopped formula feeding and was able to just breastfeed.

Lots of skin to skin contact and access to the breast is recommended in this situation. My breastfeeding support worker says having a duvet day is the best thing - just you and baby skin to skin all day. The hormones should start to stimulate your milk supply again. Definitely do get some help to avoid the problems you had before though, especially to get a good latch.

It's never to late but you will need some help. All of the issues that you had that made you quit in the first place may come back and some help to get through it will go a long way toward being successful. Meet with a lactation consultant for some help and support.
You may also find baby not wanting to latch and a LC will help.
