help!!
I'm a FTM and I've been struggling to breastfeed my 3 week old son. It's been very painful from the start, and I've met with a lactation consultant twice as well as gone to her support group. This second time I met with her, she noticed his tongue was tied a little so the pediatrician snipped it so we could get a better latch. Now that he's latching correctly, I'm still in lots of pain so all of the pain I was attributing to his shallow latch is clearly coming from something else:
I just got done nursing and am in tears because my nipples/areolas are burning/feel like tiny shards of glass are cutting them. I know breastfeeding isn't supposed to hurt, so this can not be normal.
Any advice, tips or encouragement would be helpful!
