Stopped taking BC

My last BC pill that I took was on May 27, I've had brown discharge for the past 2 days and now it's clear. Is this just side effects from stopping the birth control? I've read that it could be , and that it could be an early sign of pregnancy. But the at home test I took at 5 o'clock pm showed negative.
